Welcome to Decode the Code. This is a programming web site dedicated to web development, developer resources, web design, programmer tools, source code repository, custom DLL, databases and more programming related stuff. HTML, CSS, Javascript, ASP and ASP.NET are a few of the things that you might read about on this site.

Translating Conversation Piece There's really no great scripting or new technologies in use here, but I'm hoping to make life a little easier for teachers with this one. Current laws require that teachers conference with parents a speicified number of times each year. The problem is that some parents speek little or no English, and a translator is not always available. This tool uses the translation service provided by Google to enable you to carry an entire conversation in Spanish and English from a single web page.
AJAX Instant Messenger This is an AJAX-based instant messenger. AJAX = Asyncronous JavaScript + XML.
National Weather Radar NOTE: This tool is still in the very early stages of development and may look a little "raw".
The National Weather Radar uses a feed published by the National Weather Service to compile an image of several layers including topographic maps, boundries, highways, base-reflective radar and cities.
HTTP Request-Response Viewer This tool allows you to see the request and response that takes place over HTTP given a URL and proper HTTP verb.

Resources

There are a few sites that I reference often.  Below, you'll find a short list of those with a description of what you'll find there.  Also on this page, you'll find tools that I have written that you might find useful.  If any of this information turns out to be worth the visit, please take a moment and click one of the Google Ads on the site to help pay for the hosting.

http://www.glish.com/css This site has a number of great tools and examples of CSS in its most powerful form

http://www.rexswain.com This is the site of Mr. Rex Swain. I've never met him, but I find several of the tools on his site very useful. (Especially the HTTP Request Viewer.)

http://vaildator.w3.org This site will validate a web page's W3C compliance.

http://msdn.microsoft.com Microsoft Solution Developers Network.  If you haven't been to this site before, you're probably not a programmer.

http://www.devguru.com This site contains an extensive reference on most all web-based programming languages.  Included are references for VBScript, ASP, MS-SQL, JavaScript and HTML.

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/ The Script Center is a section of the Microsoft TechNet site that focuses on WMI scripting.  Very handy for system administrators.
